Troy Tulowitzki back to the DL
After missing three straight games with what was described as a “cramp”, Colorado Rockies shortstop and MVP candidate Troy Tulowitzki officially hit the Disabled List due to a left hip flexor strain.
It’s an all too familiar tune for Tulo, who’s played in 150 games just twice in his nine-year career.
Currently, Tulowitzki leads the majors in runs, batting average, on-base percentage and OPS. He was the captain of the NL All-Star Home Run Derby. He has 21 homers and 52 RBI to go along with his .340 batting average on the year.
The narrative won’t change on Tulowitzki, who has shown the ability to be one of the best players in baseball, but he can never stay healthy. If being on a last-place team didn’t ruin Tulowitzki’s MVP chances this year, another DL stint certainly will.
